Networking
Networking
families of children with cancer was how Kids Cancer Crusade began and
it continues to be a very important part of what we do. Part of the
application process is giving us permission to add the child's website
and basic information to our website. Understanding each family's desire for privacy, it
is NOT required to have the child's
information posted on our website network to participate in our other
programs. We may, however, ask a family to email with another family if
their situations are helpful to each other. Families may also ONLY
participate by adding their information to our network as a resource
for other families and opt out of our other programs such as care
packages. It is our hope that as our network grows, families
are able to connect with other families to share experiences. Those
dealing with a new diagnosis or relapse find it especially helpful.
To facilitate easy networking, our children are currently divided up in the following ways:
* Diagnosis
* Location
* Angels
* Graduates
* Birthdays

Care Packages
Thank you to St. Joseph Central Catholic High School students and faculty for assisting with the preparation of our care packages.
New Families
The purpose of this package is to welcome you and encourage your family
to spend some quality time together. In addition, gift cards are
included for the parents while pajamas, hats and other comfort items
are included for the child on treatment.
Relapse
To let you know we're still here and pulling for your family, you'll
receive another package similar to the one for new families.
End of Treatment
This one is sure to bring a smile and a lot of celebration! We're keeping the details a secret though - it's a surprise! A huge thank you to The Party Starts Here in Fremont, Ohio for their generosity.
Angel Families
Items such as voice recordable picture frames to capture your child's voice can be
sent as available upon request. In addition, an item acknowledging the child's fight
and memory will be sent to the family. Thank you to Imprint on my Heart, LLC for their donation of fingerprint impression kits which are available upon request.
Transplant
Packages of lots of fun things to do are
mailed when a child is heading to to transplant or another particularly
long hospital stay. Comfy pajamas are included - please provide your
child's clothing size. These packages must be requested.
Hats
Many comfy and cute hats have been donated just for the kids that have
lost their hair due to chemotherapy. Knitted hats are available during
the winter season and other hats are available any time. These must be
requested.
Complimentary Photo Sessions
We
are teaming up with photographers nationwide to provide complimentary
photo sessions for our families. Details will vary with each
photographer but we will all work together to capture special moments
and memories!
