Networking
Connecting with HOPE.
Networking
families of children with cancer was how Kids Cancer Crusade began and
it continues to be a very important part of what we do. Part of the
application process is giving us permission to add the child's website
and basic information to our website. Understanding each family's desire for privacy, it
is NOT required to have the child's
information posted on our website network to participate in our other
programs. We may, however, ask a family to email with another family if
their situations are helpful to each other. Families may also ONLY
participate by adding their information to our network as a resource
for other families and opt out of our other programs such as care
packages. It is our hope that as our network grows, families
are able to connect with other families to share experiences. Those
dealing with a new diagnosis or relapse find it especially helpful.
To facilitate easy networking, our children are currently divided up in the following ways:
* Diagnosis
* Location
* Angels
* Birthdays

Care Packages
Encouraging, honoring & remembering our Heroes.
*Angel* Christi T.
continously brought smiles to the faces of other children with cancer
by keeping them company, bringing them things to do and brightening up
their rooms with decorations all while receiving treatment herself. She
loved to help other kids like her and spend time with her family and
friends. Keeping in line with her actions, our care packages began...
New Families
The purpose of this package is to welcome you and encourage your family
to spend some quality time together. In addition, gift cards are
included for the parents while pajamas, hats and other comfort items
are included for the child receiving treatment.
Relapse
To let you know we're still here and pulling for your family, you'll
receive another package similar to the one for new families.
End of Treatment
*Angel* Tyler H.
loved a good party and decorated everything to perfection. In true
Ty-Guy style, this care package is sure to bring a smile and a lot of
celebration! We're keeping the details a secret though - it's a
surprise! A huge thank you to The Party Starts Here in Fremont, Ohio for their generosity.
*Please help us keep track of this as treatment schedules change. If
you knew when you applied when the child would be completing treatment
we will go with that, but many are unsure. Please send an email about a
month ahead of time.*
Angel Families
We will donate a copy of the child's favorite book to their local library or
school in their memory. In addition, an item acknowledging the child's
fight
and memory will be sent to the family. *Imprint on my Heart, LLC has generously donated fingerprint impression kits which are available upon request.
Transplant
Packages of lots of fun things to do are
mailed when a child is heading to to transplant or another particularly
long hospital stay. Comfy pajamas are included - please provide your
child's clothing size. These packages must be requested.
Hats
Many comfy and cute hats have been donated just for the kids that have
lost their hair due to chemotherapy. Knitted hats are available during
the winter season and other hats are available any time. These must be
requested.
Thank you to St. Joseph Central Catholic High School students and faculty for assisting with the preparation of our care packages.
Volunteer Photography
Capturing memories & milestones.
ALL of our families are welcome to a session with one of our volunteer
photographers regardless of the child's treatment status. Details will
vary with each
photographer but we will work together to find the perfect match for
you! Our current partners are listed below - if you know of another
photographer than may be interested in joining our team or you are in
need of a photographer in a different area, please let us know.
It is also important that you go through Kids Cancer Crusade to
schedule your session or your family may not receive the session for
free.

Scholarships
Honoring Heroes, Funding Futures.
The
children and teens we work with are incredible, we know that. Now it is
time for the rest of the world to see what they can do as they head to
college to put their life experiences and challenges toward their
futures. We have no doubt that these young adults will do big things!
