or had childhood cancer. This resource center was created by and for
people who know young people who are recovering from cancer.
Alex's Lemonade Stand
In 2000, a 4 year old
cancer patient named Alexandra Scott opened a lemonade stand in her
front yard with the goal of raising money to find a cure for all kids
with cancer. As word of Alex's fundraising spread, donations poured in
from around the world. Alex passed away in August of 2004, at the age
of 8 but her legacy lives on through Alex’s Lemonade
Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

Paul Black, a singer/songwriter and father of a son with cancer began a
Will Sing 4 A Cure tour in January 2005. 30% of the gross receipts is
allocated to many charities related to childhood cancer. They are
selling a great t-shirt to raise funds also.

Dear Jack Foundation
The frontman of Jack's Mannequin(formally
of Something Corporate), Andrew McMahon was diagnosed with ALL in June
2005. He is now in remission and doing great. He created this
foundation in July 2006 to benefit groups such as the Pediatric Cancer
Research Foundation and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A tour
with a few other bands in September/October 2006 brought in between 70
and 90 thousand dollars for this foundation!
